Pest Control & Pesticide Licensing
Many training programs, certification opportunities, and continuing education units (CEUs) are available through Extension, often in conjunction with FDACS and the USDA. Florida Pesticide Licensing Information
- DACS Pesticide Licensing Handbook (pdf)
Everything you want to know about Florida pesticide licensing in a ready-to-print format. The Handbook is authored by the agency that regulates the state's pest control industry: the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (DACS). It includes requirements, fees, and details about every Florida pesticide license.

Florida Pesticide Licensing CEUs and Pest Control Training
- Online Pesticide CEU Modules
Modules for many different licenses are offered by the IFAS Pesticide Information Office and available for purchase through the IFAS Bookstore. Each module should take approximately fifty minutes to complete.
- Public Health CEUs
These CDs are specifically for Public Health and/or Mosquito Control CEUs.
- Pesticide CEUs on CD
These CDs--created by UF/IFAS's Department of Entomology--cover many insects as well as CORE CEUs on topics such as IPM, pesticide labels, and pesticide emergency response.
- IPM Florida CEUs and Training
The IMP Florida Web site includes a listing of large national and state IPM-related trainings as well as online trainings in various formats and for various pesticide licenses.
- Invasive Plants Online Training
Ken Gioeli--a Natural Resources Extension Agent in St. Lucie County--has developed a number of online courses that focus on controlling invasive plants.
- Pest Management University (PMU)
PMU conducts both live CEU training and online CEU classes. They currently offer both Termite CEUs and GHP (General Household) CEUs.
