Richard Crotty, Orlando Mayor: "We have a rich history of agriculture in Orange County as we’re changed as a community and grown into the future we recognize the importance of that relationship."
"We’re here to celebrate the opening of the Orange County Agriculture Extension and Education facility, which is an awesome partnership with IFAS, a partnership that is going to allow us to take a look at the appropriate role and diverse role of agriculture in the future."
"And we think it’s a compliment to where we’re growing in terms of economic diversification. We think agriculture plays an important part, and we think IFAS plays an important part as we look into the future."
"And I think it’s important to raise public awareness, but talking about not just the role of agriculture in the community, but the role of IFAS and the role of agriculture Extension and education. It’s a key component as we look into the future. Educating our citizens about the role of the environment, about the role of agriculture--it makes, I think, a bold statement here."
